I Ching Books to study

A friend of mine asked me to recommend him a book on I Ching, the book of changes. If you wanted to study Chinese astrology, I Ching is the book you should start with.

I asked a professor of I Ching about which English text to follow, he says," If you wanted to study I Ching, you should learn Chinese first, then you read the Chinese text and not read from English text. You cannot study I Ching by reading English text." The professor is a English educated, at least, he studied English most of the time. He learned Chinese on his own. He now can speaks Chinese and write Chinese. And he is a I Ching Professor.

I know for thoese English educated, it is difficult to start with the study of Chinese first, therefore, I would recommend these books as a start because I have studied them before.
